Embark CSR is delighted to have the support of the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) throughout Leicester Giving Day, with a focus on helping it evaluate the outcomes of the Community Impact programme.

The Community Impact Programme is a new way of helping charities and community organisations to secure funding to help them address identified local needs. The programme aims to ‘reverse engineer’ the usual grant aid programme by inviting applicants to submit proposals based on their own, and their community’s priorities, as opposed to bidding for funds based on a set of funder determined criteria.

Four projects will be selected by a Leicester Giving Day panel, and Embark CSR will advocate on their behalf to local companies, Trusts and Foundations to help each project raise a maximum of £25,000.

CSJ will work with Embark CSR to evaluate the methodology behind programme and to gain social and economic insights from within the successful organisations and their respective communities.

This approach will be especially helpful to CSJ during the next 12 months as it seeks to build its regional network within Leicester and Leicestershire, and to understand the impact of the cost of living crisis and other social issues on local communities.

The first tranche of the programme will last 12 months. If successful applications will be invited from more community groups and charities during 2023.
