Local, national and global businesses have stepped forward to support Leicester Giving Day with innovative projects and charity partnerships
Businesses of all sizes and from across all sectors have stepped forward in support of the inaugural Leicester Giving Day which takes place on the 18th November as part of the annual Leicester Business festival.
Some of the biggest names in the business world, including Microsoft, PwC, PPL PRS and Sandicliffe Ford will be offering their practical support for local charities and community organisations offering time, treasure and talent.

The list of local supporters is already a long and impressive one and includes Highcross Leicester, Fosse Park Shopping, Hickman and Smith Associates, Jordan Motors, Mini Warriors, Grounded Kitchen, Cross Productions, Tyrrells Cafe and many more.

Each business has chosen a charity or community organisation to support, or in the case of Microsoft and PwC, will be delivering support sessions in local schools.

Sandicliffe Ford has offered the use of one of its vehicles from the company’s new electric transit fleet to Narborough based charity, Fareshare to help it collect unused food from local supermarkets for distribution to homeless charities and local food banks.

PPL PRS is supporting mental health charity, LAMP, for its ‘Make Mental Health Your Business’ workshop, while Mini Warriors will be running an Ultimate Challenge event on Nelson Mandela Park in support of local charity, Menphys. Jordan Motors has chosen to support Young Leicestershire while Hickman Smith Architects are offering a free design service for charities that are looking to improve their premises. Highcross Leicester are offering free facilities to run a Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub whilst Cross Productions will be putting on a free LinkedIn Master Class for charities. Tyrrells Cafe is partnering with the Bodie Hodges Foundation to offer support to families who have suffered the bereavement of a child.

Chris Shaw and Stacey Wragg from Leicester Giving Day organisers, Embark CSR, said “We’re thrilled with the number of businesses that have joined up in support of Leicester Giving Day. It demonstrates our belief that local companies really want to support their local communities with practical help. Leicester Giving Day gives them a platform to do that.”

There is still time for companies to join up and support the day. They can do so by visiting the Giving Day website and pledging their support here: https://leicestergiving.uk/get-involved/

Leicester Giving Day is sponsored by AKN Build Ltd and the University of Leicester and is part of the Leicester Business festival, which runs from the 7th to the 18th November.
